It’s All About Popcorn!

Popcorn – so delicious, so simple, and infinitely adaptable to almost any flavor profile. That last one is what makes popcorn and Ground 2 Table’s fabulous spice blends so perfect for one another. Our twelve blends, any other ingredients you may have on hand, and a little imagination are all you need for an almost infinite number of flavor combinations. We’ve come up with a few to get you started, but don’t let those ideas limit you. Instead, let your imagination run wild!

Salsa*
In a small bowl, whisk together 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil (or other oil of choice), ½ tsp sea salt, and Spice Blend 5 (our Salsa blend). Drizzle over 6-8 cups of popcorn (from ¼ cup corn kernels) and toss until evenly coated. Serve immediately.

*This basic recipe will work with any of our blends (leave salt out for #12), so feel free to swap out for your favorite one.

Herbed Garlic and Parmesan
In a small saucepan, whisk together 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil (or other oil of choice) and 2 cloves of finely minced garlic. Cook over low heat until olive oil is barely simmering. Turn off heat and add in Spice Blend 7. Cover and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes. Whisk again and drizzle over 6-8 cups of popcorn (from ¼ cup corn kernels) and toss until evenly coated. Toss popcorn mixture with ⅓ cup finely grated parmesan cheese and toss again until evenly distributed. Add salt to taste and serve immediately.

Curry Caramel
In a small saucepan, whisk together 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil and 6 Tbsp raw honey. Continue whisking over medium heat as mixture begins to bubble. Cook, while stirring continuously, 2-3 minutes, or until mixture darkens slightly. Remove from heat and immediately whisk in Spice Blend 11. Drizzle over 6-8 cups of popcorn (from ¼ cup corn kernels) and toss until evenly coated. Using a rubber spatula, spread mixture onto parchment paper and allow to cool before eating. Sprinkle with up to ½ tsp sea salt while cooling.

Spicy Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt
Whisk Spice Blend 2 into 4 oz melted dark chocolate. Drizzle over 6-8 cups of popcorn (from ¼ cup corn kernels) and toss until evenly coated. Evenly spread mixture onto parchment paper and sprinkle with ½ tsp sea salt. Allow chocolate to harden before serving (or eat it melted if you can’t hold back!).
